Blowing Water out of Nose while Swimming
I had a small breakthrough yesterday and thought I’d share it here. I have been re-learning to swim over the past week and finally made it. My problem was with water getting into my nose while swimming (only breaststroke at this point). By the time I had finished a lap, I would have to stop and cough it out (sometimes in the middle as well). It also prevented me from concentrating on my moves and it made the whole experience closer to drowning than swimming
Well, I finally tried blowing the air out of my nose instead of my mouth while underwater. Huge improvement. I exhale through my nose, making little bubbles all the way, then lift my head up and inhale through my mouth. No water coming into my airways anymore and I can finally swim without coughing!
